Compassionate Critical Care for Sick & Injured Pets
When your pet isn’t feeling well, you want fast, reliable care from a team you can trust. At Paws & Claws Veterinary Hospital, we offer sick pet appointments, walk-ins, and urgent care services during our regular hours to ensure your pet gets the attention they need—when they need it most. Whether your pet has a sudden illness, an unexpected injury, or a more serious emergency, our experienced veterinary team is here to help.
Sick Pet Visits & Urgent Care
Not every health concern is an emergency, but that doesn’t mean your pet should have to wait for relief. If your pet is experiencing any of the following, we recommend bringing them in for an evaluation:
- Vomiting or diarrhea that lasts more than 24 hours
- Loss of appetite or sudden weight loss
- Persistent coughing or trouble breathing
- Lethargy or extreme weakness
- Unexplained limping or reluctance to move
- Excessive scratching, licking, or skin irritation
- Changes in drinking or urination habits
- Eye redness, swelling, or discharge
- Sudden changes in behavior or signs of pain
These symptoms may not be life-threatening, but they could indicate an underlying illness that requires medical attention.
Emergency Care For Your Pet
While we are not a 24-hour emergency hospital, we do treat certain urgent and emergency cases during our open hours. If your pet is showing signs of illness, discomfort, or a change in behavior, we encourage you to call or text us at (818) 346-7387 ahead so we can prepare for your arrival. Our team will triage your pet upon arrival, prioritizing the most critical cases while ensuring all pets receive timely care.
Emergency Care When We Are Closed
If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency outside of our business hours, we recommend seeking care at Western Veterinary Center Medical & Surgical Hospital, where they provide 24-hour emergency services.
